Day 01: Cochin to Munnar | Sightseeing on the route (126 kms / 4 to 5 hrs)
The tour starts when you arrive in Cochin. Our local tour representative will greet you at Cochin International Airport/ Ernakulam Junction railway station. Then we will drive onwards to Munnar, which is one of the best hill stations in South India. Munnar is situated at an altitude of 5200 feet above sea level. On this Cochin-Munnar route you can make short halts and view Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara Waterfalls. The breathtaking views of Tea gardens and fruit plantations on the slopes of the hills will make the drive even more scenic. Reach Munnar and check into the hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel in Munnar.
Day 02: Full Day Munnar Sightseeing Tour
Today is an exciting day of Munnar Sightseeing. After breakfast drive to visit popular places in Munnar. We will begin with Ernakulam National Park, which is very famous for its mountain peaks and rare wild animals. (National Park is Closed From 01 Feb to 15th Apr during breeding season). Then Visit Tata Tea Museum and the Tea factory (Closed on Mondays and Good Friday) , where you can view the tea manufacturing process and taste various kinds of teas. Also visit Echo Point, where you can hear your own echo from the mountains. Afternoon drive to Kundala Lake, which is surrounded by natural beauty. and Mattupetty Dam, which is full of the natural beauty of mountains and greenery. If time permit visit Blossom Hydel Park, where you can view a spectacular lake, gardens, and lawns & a Spice Plantation, where spices like cardamom, cinnamon, and others are grown. Evening drive back to the hotel. Overnight at Munnar.
Day 03: Munnar to Thekkady | Sightseeing in Thekkady (100kms/ 3 to 4 hrs)
After breakfast, you can check-out from Munnar and proceed towards Thekkady. Thekkady is known for its spice plantations, Periyar National Park, Periyar Lake, and tea factory. On arriving in Thekkady, you will check into the hotel/ resort and refresh yourself after the journey. Then we will begin the sightseeing tour of Thekkady. First, visit a tribal village and view the local tribes who live here. Then visit a spice plantation, where you can view varieties of spices grown here. After lunch, we will take you to visit Periyar Lake, where you can do boating and view the surrounding greenery. You can view the wilderness and jungles of Periyar National Park during this boat ride. Then go shopping for handicrafts in the local market. After this sightseeing tour of Thekkady, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 04: Thekkady to Alleppey | Houseboat stay in Alleppey (142kms / 4 to 5hrs)
After breakfast check-out from Thekkady and proceed towards Alleppey. Alleppey is renowned all over India for its backwater’s cruises and canal network. After you arrive in Alleppey, check into the houseboat with a traditional welcome. You will now go for an exciting backwater cruise over the calm waters of the backwaters of Alleppey. View the paddy fields, coconut palms, lagoons, villages, and network of canals. Then an overnight stay in the houseboat in Alleppey.
Day 05: Alleppey to Kovalam (175 km / 5 to 6 Hours)
From the ‘Backwater Capital’, today you will be driven to Kovalam, the ‘Beach Capital’ of Kerala. Arriving in Kovalam, you will be taken to the Kovalam Beach, where you can enjoy several beach activities. Adorned by the playful waves of the Arabian Sea, this sandy retreat is visited by a large number of beach lovers and is ideal for activities like swimming, sunbathing, herbal body massages, water sports and lot more. With the advent of the evening, you will be checked-in into a beach resort for your overnight stay.
Day 06: Kovalam to Kanyakumari | Sightseeing in Kanyakumari (80 kms / 2to 3 hrs)
In the morning, have breakfast check-out from the hotel. Then proceed to Kanyakumari, which is the southernmost point of India. Check into the hotel and then visit the popular landmarks of Kanyakumari. First visit Kanyakumari Mandir, which is dedicated to Devi Kanyakumari, the divine goddess. Timings are: 4:30am – 12:30pm & 4pm – 08pm. We will now visit Tri-Samudra Milan point, and this is the point where the three seas meet. Then visit Gandhi Mandapam, which is a memorial for Mahatma Gandhi. Timings: 07:00 am – 07:00 pm Proceed onwards and visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue. Timings are 09:00 am – 04:00 pm In the evening, we will take you to Vivekananda Rock Memorial, which are two rocks where Swami Vivekananda attained enlightenment. Timings: 08:00 am – 05:00 pm Then reach the Sunset Point by 6 pm and view the fabulous sunset views from Kanyakumari. After this tour of Kanyakumari, we return to the hotel and you will stay here for the night.
Day 07: Kanyakumari to Rameswaram (310 kms. 6 to 7 hrs)
After Breakfast, check-out from Kanyakumari and drive to Rameswaram. Check-in at the hotel and overnight stay in Rameswaram.
Day 08: Full day Sightseeing tour of Rameswaram
After breakfast, we will begin our sightseeing tour of Rameswaram. Rameswaram is located on Pamban Island, off the Tamil Nadu coast. The major attraction in Rameswaram is the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple. The temple has massive corridors, sculpted pillars, water tanks, and huge halls. Agni Teertham is the beach that is located next to this temple and is considered to be a very holy place for bathing. You can visit Dhanushkodi, which is an abandoned town famous for scenic ocean views. Timings: 6 am to 6 pm Then Kalam National Memorial, which is a monument in memory of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Timings: 09:00am – 01:00 pm & 02:00 pm – 05:00 pm Then visit Pamban Bridge, which is connecting bridge between Rameswaram and Mandapam on mainland India. It is open at all times of the day.
Day 09: Rameswaram to Madurai | Sightseeing in Madurai (173kms / 3 to 4 hrs)
Today, after breakfast in Rameswaram, proceed to check-out from the hotel. Then reach Madurai, which is famous as the temple town, because of so many temples. After check-in at the hotel, we will take you to visit the popular places in Madurai. Visit Meenakshi Amman Temple (05:00 am – 12:30 pm & 04:00 pm – 10:00 pm) The temple is famous for its incredible carvings, sculptures, Dravidian architecture, and gateways. Then, further we will visit Thirumalai Nayak Palace (Timings: 09:00 am – 05:00 pm). The palace is a blend of European and Dravidian architectural styles and has sculpted pillars, a courtyard, halls, and other chambers. After this sightseeing tour of Madurai, return to the hotel an overnight stay.
Day 10: Departure from Madurai
You have now reached the final day of this tour. After breakfast, check-out of the hotel in Madurai. Our tour representative will drop you off at the airport/ railway station. You will board the flight/ train and bid goodbye to South India.
