 Day01 : Arrival Srinagar & Houseboat Stay

Pickup assistance by our driver from Srinagar airport and transfer to hotel. Srinagar without visiting Mughal gardens is incomplete. Mesmerize yourself with the Mughal Gardens of Emperor Shahjahan which include Shalimar Garden, Nishat Garden & famous Shankaracharya temple .Evening Shikara ride in Dal Lake.  Day-2: Srinagar – Sonmarg – Kargil (Approx 200 km 5-6 hrs drive)

Morning after breakfast drive to Kargil over Zojila Pass 3530 m. It is an important transit hub of Ladakh with roads leading from here to Srinagar-Leh and Darcha Padum in Zanskar. The unofficial capital of Muslim Ladakh and capital of the Kargil district. It is still a small town while interesting in many ways due to its historic position on the caravan routes nothing of this is visible to the casual visitor. It is notorious with travelers as a necessary stop between Central Ladakh, Zanskar and Kashmir. It is now famous due to the Kargil Conflict when the town and surrounding areas was shelled by Pakistani based militants.  Day-3: Kargil –Lamayuru – Fotu La Pass– Gurudwara Pathar Sahib – Magnetic Hills – Leh 3500m (220km 5 -6hrs )

Morning after breakfast drive from Kargil to Leh-Ladakh over Fotu la Pass 4100 m, the Land of High Passes, Ladakh, the newly created Union Territory in India (previously a part of Jammu & Kashmir), boasts a landscape that can leave you with your jaws dropped. It is a place where the landscape changes dramatically; it is truly astonishing to see the mountains, snow, cold desert, alpine meadows and lakes at a short distance from each other adorned with the lofty barren mountains, Ladakh is home to some of the highest motorable passes like Khardung La (5359 m) and Chang La (5360 m), along with alpine lakes like Pangong Tso (4350 m) and Tso Moriri (4522 m). Ladakh is further divided into three regions - Leh, Nubra, and Zanskar, and each region has several places to see.

Gurudwara Pathar Sahib: As you drive back towards Leh after visiting the Magnetic Hill stop by at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Built in 1517 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak to Leh. A sense of peace pervades this Gurudwara which also offers a bewitching view of the majestic mountains that border it from all side.

Magnetic Hill: Located about 30 kms away from Leh as you head towards Kargil along the Manali highway, the Magnetic Hill continues to baffle tourists till today. So called because of the strong magnetic force that pulls cars up even when the ignition is turned off, a car drive up the magnetic hill is well worth the gravity defying experience.  Day-4: In Leh – Local Sightseeing

The Hall of Fame: on the Leh-Kargil road about 4km away from Leh is a museum that is constructed and maintained by the Indian army. Hall of fame is located near the Leh Airfield. This museum is built in memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives through the Indo-Pak wars. The building comprises of 2 floors and in the ground floor there is information about the courageous soldiers. The Hall of Fame Museum also owns objects of various wars consist of weapons and documents. Another segment is devoted to Siachen glacier. The top floor has guns and equipment that have been detained by the Indian Army during its battles with Pakistan Army. The museum owns the information that is related to Leh culture, way of life, history, vegetation and animals originate in this part of the world. In room no 15 will display clothes that were worn by soldiers at -50ºC. The hall of fame museum also includes a 30-minute film that comprises of 1999 'Kargil War'.

Shanti Stupa: Climb down the hill to reach the main bazaar where you can indulge your taste buds in some local eateries. Leave the bazaar behind to turn off towards Changspa to reach Shanti Stupa built to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism by “The Japanese for World Peace” organization, Shanti Stupa is a structure dedicated to promoting world peace. An all-white structure with domes, Shanti Stupa offers a breathtaking imagery silhouetted against the rising and setting sun. That apart doesn’t forget to capture the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and valleys from all sides of Shanti Stupa.. Overnight stay at Leh.

Leh Palace: was built during the 17th century by the ruler King Sengge Namgyal. Its construction is on the same lines as the construction of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. This palace had to be deserted by the royal family in the middle of the 19th century, because of the taking over of Ladakh by Dogra forces. After this the royal family is living in-exile in the popular Stok Palace. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is restoring some of the ruined portions of this nine-storey palace. While the store rooms were on the lower floors, the royalty resided on the upper floors. The roof of this palace offers an excellent view of the valley.


 Day-5: Nubra Valley – Nubra Valley Excursion (160 kms 4-5 hrs)

Today we proceed to Nubra valley is a part of the old Silk Road to Central Asia. The valley connected eastern Tibet with Turkistan through the Karakoram Pass. Nubra valley is known for its centuries-old gompas, hot sulphur springs, high-altitude sand dunes, double-humped Bactrian camels and a unique amalgamation of mountains, rivers and deserts. The Karakoram mountain range and the valley combine to create a fantastic desert landscape and fertile fields. Nubra is known as Ldumra, meaning “valley of flowers” in Ladakhi language. Nubra is also the gateway to Siachen glacier, the highest and coldest battlefield in the world at an altitude of almost 6,000 meters where the temperature falls below minus 60 degrees in the winter. Tourists need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Nubra valley. Overnight stay at Nubra Valley.


 Day-6: Nubra Valley – Shyok – Pangong Lake @ 4350 m (200km 4-5 hrs)

Morning after early breakfast drive from Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shayok. Pangong Lake, one of the most famous lakes in Leh Ladakh, derives its name from the Tibetan word, “Pangong TSO”, which means “High Grassland Lake”. You could spend some time here in contemplation here, and still not have enough of its beauty. Pangong Lake is also known to change colors, appearing blue, green and red at different times.  Day-7: Pangong Lake – Hanle @ 4500 m (310km 6-7 hrs)

Morning after breakfast drive from Pangang Lake to Hanle one of the most offbeat remote place to visit in Ladakh often spelled as Hanley, Anle, or Anley and lies on the ancient trade route between Ladakh and Tibet. The presence of the Indian Astronomical Observatory makes this village quite famous. This observatory is the best spot in the whole country to observe the skies and indulge in stargazing as it is located 4,500 m above sea level. Hanle village is also known for the eponymous monastery among tourists, which boasts of a rich history.  Day-8: Hanle – Tsomoriri Lake @ 4500 m (160km 4-5 hrs)

Morning after early breakfast drive from Hanley to Tso Moriri Lake located in the Chang Thang region of Ladakh in India. TSO Moriri Lake is one of the highest altitude lakes in India which lies entirely in Indian Territory. It is about 7 kilometers broad at its widest point and 19 kilometers long. The lake along with the surrounding areas is protected as the TSO Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. It is also the highest Ramsar site in the world. Since it is a protected area, camping or setting up any accommodation beside the lake is completely prohibited. The lake derives its water from springs and snowmelt from the mountains surrounding it.  Day-9: TSO Moriri Lake -Tsokar - Leh (220kms/5-6 hrs)

1)How can we reach Ladakh?

Answer: Answer. There are three ways to reach Ladakh:

  • The best way to travel to Ladakh is by flight. Leh Airport is well-connected with major cities like Delhi, Jammu, Chandigarh, Srinagar, and many other places through direct and connecting flights.
  • If you are traveling by road then there are two different routes lead to Ladakh - one from Srinagar and another from Manali. If you are traveling from Manali then you will cover the distance of 474 kilometers to Leh via Keylong with a night stopover. On the other hand, Srinagar to Leh will take you through Sonamarg, Drass, Kargil, Mulbekh, and Lamayuru. You will cover 434 km on this journey. All the roads remain open from May to October.


2)Is there any oxygen problem in Ladakh?

Answer: Ladakh is located at high altitude, nearly 11,500 feet above sea level. At this altitude people often find difficulty in breathing or are likely to fall prey to altitude sickness. It happens due to a low level of atmospheric oxygen. It is advisable to give yourself enough time to acclimatize before engaging in any physical activity.


3)What are the symptoms of High Altitude sickness? How long does it take to get acclimatize in Ladakh?

Answer: Some common symptoms of high altitude sickness include giddiness, loss of appetite, lack of sleep and difficulty in breathing. The best way to get acclimatize in Ladakh is a natural rest for at least 48 hours.


4)What kind of accommodations are available in Ladakh?
