The Hall of Fame: on the Leh-Kargil road about 4km away from Leh is a museum that is constructed and maintained by the Indian army. Hall of fame is located near the Leh Airfield. This museum is built in memory of the soldiers who had lost their lives through the Indo-Pak wars. The building comprises of 2 floors and in the ground floor there is information about the courageous soldiers. The Hall of Fame Museum also owns objects of various wars consist of weapons and documents. Another segment is devoted to Siachen glacier. The top floor has guns and equipment that have been detained by the Indian Army during its battles with Pakistan Army. The museum owns the information that is related to Leh culture, way of life, history, vegetation and animals originate in this part of the world. In room no 15 will display clothes that were worn by soldiers at -50ºC. The hall of fame museum also includes a 30-minute film that comprises of 1999 'Kargil War'.
Shanti Stupa: Climb down the hill to reach the main bazaar where you can indulge your taste buds in some local eateries. Leave the bazaar behind to turn off towards Changspa to reach Shanti Stupa built to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism by “The Japanese for World Peace” organization, Shanti Stupa is a structure dedicated to promoting world peace. An all-white structure with domes, Shanti Stupa offers a breathtaking imagery silhouetted against the rising and setting sun. That apart doesn’t forget to capture the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and valleys from all sides of Shanti Stupa.. Overnight stay at Leh.
Leh Palace: was built during the 17th century by the ruler King Sengge Namgyal. Its construction is on the same lines as the construction of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. This palace had to be deserted by the royal family in the middle of the 19th century, because of the taking over of Ladakh by Dogra forces. After this the royal family is living in-exile in the popular Stok Palace. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is restoring some of the ruined portions of this nine-storey palace. While the store rooms were on the lower floors, the royalty resided on the upper floors. The roof of this palace offers an excellent view of the valley.
Day-5: Leh – Khardung La (18380ft ) –Nubra Valley (120 kms 4-5 hrs)
This morning, drive to the Khardung La pass, the world's highest motorable road at an altitude of 5,602 metres above sea level. From the top, there is a stunning panorama of the Karakoram mountain range. The dramatic Nubra valley (“the valley of flowers” in Ladakhi language) actually comprises two parts: one part along the Nubra river (Sumur, Panamik) and another part along the Shayok river (Diskit, Hunder, Turtuk). Rising above the village, the Diskit monastery was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo in the 15th century. It is the largest and oldest gompa in the Nubra valley. A few hundred metres away, the impressive 32-metre-high statue of Maitreya Buddha was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in 2010. From Diskit, follow the Shayok river for 10 km to reach Hunder village where you can spend the night. Overnight stay at Nubra valley.
Day-6: Nubra Valley – Shyok – Pangong Lake @ 4350 m (160km 4-5 hrs)

Pangong Lake, one of the most famous lakes in Leh Ladakh, derives its name from the Tibetan word, “Pangong TSO”, which means “High Grassland Lake”. TSO Moriri Lake is one of the highest altitude lakes in India which lies entirely in Indian Territory. It is about 7 kilometers broad at its widest point and 19 kilometers long. The lake along with the surrounding areas is protected as the TSO Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. It is also the highest Ramsar site in the world. Since it is a protected area, camping or setting up any accommodation beside the lake is completely prohibited. The lake derives its water from springs and snowmelt from the mountains surrounding it.
