Confluence-of-Indus-and-Zanskar-Rivers

This tour cover the Nubra valley, Pangong lake, Tso Moriri lake & Tso Kar lake and the Indus valley. Start with crossing the Khardung La pass, the highest motorable road in the world wich leads to the Nubra valley. Visit Diskit monastery, experience a camel ride at Hunder sand dunes and visit Samstanling monastery in Sumur. If you have time, Panamik hot spring and hike to the picturesque Yarab Tso lake. Next, head to the mesmerizing Pangong lake via Shayok valley and Tangtse. From Pangong, follow the road along the Chinese border via Tsaga La pass to reach Tso Moriri lake. You can also spend a night in Hanle and drive to Tso Moriri the next day if you have an extra day for this tour. Spend a night in Korzok village on the bank of the scenic Tso Moriri lake. Relax at Puga hot springs. Explore the land of the nomads and go birdwatching at Tso Kar lake. Then, cross the Taglang La pass to reach the Indus valley. Visit Hemis monastery, Thiksey monastery and Shey palace before returning Leh. If you have time, you can also stop at Stakna monastery and Stok palace.You can choose whether you want to include the visit to Turtuk village in this tour.

 Day01 : Leh - Arrival & Leisure Day

Arrive at Leh Airport, and you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Hotel. Rest of the day leisure day


 Day-2: Leh - Sham valley - Hall of fame – Spituk – Gurduwara - Magnetic hill – Sangam - Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace

Route: Sham valley sightseeing Place covered: Leh - Hall of fame ( 4 KMs) Gurudwara Pathar Sahib (21 Kms) – Magnetic hill (2 km), Sangam ( 3 KMs) - Night Stay: Leh, Hotel Altitude: (11562 i.e.3524mts) Distance/Time Taken: 70 km one way (6 to 7 hrs including Sightseeing)

Magnetic Hill: Magnet Hill is a "gravity hill" the area's slop layout and surroundings create an optical illusion that the down road is uphill. The Indus and Zanskar Rivers (Sangam) is a 3-kilometre drive from Magnetic Hill. The view of Sangam Valley from the road above it can make you swoon in ecstasy. The colours of the two rivers can be seen distinctly at the confluence. And drive back to Leh overnight Hotel in Leh.

 Day-3: Leh - Nubra Valley – Nubra Valley Excursion (160 kms 4-5 hrs).

Today we proceed to Nubra valley is a part of the old Silk Road to Central Asia. The valley connected eastern Tibet with Turkistan through the Karakoram Pass. Nubra valley is known for its centuries-old gompas, Hot Sulphur springs, high-altitude sand dunes, double-humped Bactrian camels and a unique amalgamation of mountains, rivers and deserts. The Karakoram Mountain range and the valley combine to create a fantastic desert landscape and fertile fields. Nubra is known as Ldumra, meaning “valley of flowers” in Ladakhi language. Nubra is also the gateway to Siachen glacier, the highest and coldest battlefield in the world at an altitude of almost 6,000 meters where the temperature falls below minus 60 degrees in the winter. Tourists need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Nubra valley. Overnight stay at Nubra Valley.

 Day-4: Nubra Valley – Shyok – Pangong Lake @ 4350 m (200km 4-5 hrs.)

Morning after early breakfast drive from Nubra Valley to Pangong via Shayok. Pangong Lake, one of the most famous lakes in Leh Ladakh, derives its name from the Tibetan word, “Pangong Tso”, which means “high grassland lake”. You could spend some time here in contemplation here, and still not have enough of its beauty. Pangong Lake is also known to change colors, appearing blue, green and red at different times.  Day-5: Pangong Lake to Hanle - Transfer via Chushul village and Tsagala La (170km 6-7 hrs).

Route: Pangong Lake to Hanle Place covered: Pangong Lake (Spangmik ) – 12 KMs- Maan Marak-28 KMs- Chushul – 53KMs -Tsaga village – 73KMs - Hanle.

Night stay: Pangong, Hotel/Guesthouse Altitute: (14,764 i.e. 4500 mts).

Distance/Time Taken: 163 km one way (6 to 7 hrs. including Sightseeing).

After breakfast, we will go to the famous point (3 Idiot) at Pangong lake, enjoy the photo shoot, and be ready with your cameras to click memorable photos. The view in the morning will take your breath away. After some fun at the lake, start the journey toward Hanle. Today's ride will be very challenging as it's a less travelled road, and the terrain is challenging with a mix of good and bad roads. We will cross Maan and Merak and head toward Chushul (Get your permits checked and proceed further. This route will take you through places like Rezang La and Tsaga, where Indian Army battled with China. Travelling through Chang Thang Valley allows you to explore more, and this route is one of the most scenic places in all of Ladakh. Only Indian nationals get ILP (Permits) for this route; foreigners are strictly prohibited. After crossing the Mahe bridge, reach Hanle. Hanle is a charming small village—evening visit to the Hanle observatory and Monastery. Enjoy dinner with overnight Stay.


 Day-6: Hanle to Tsomoriri Lake - Transfer Via Mahey Bridge (140km 4-5 hrs).

Route: Hanle – TSO Moriri

Place Covered: Hanle – Loma (51 KMs) – Nyoma (22 KMs) – Mahe (25 KMs) – Sumdo (10 KMs) – Tso Moriri / Korzok (53 KMs) = 161 KMs Travel time.

Travel Distance :- Approx. 07 To 08 hours /Approx. 161 KM Night stay in Tsomoriri Hotels/camp/homestay- Altitute 14,763 ft.

Start early in the morning from Hanle and head towards the village of Chumathang. (Approx. 140 km, 4-5 hours), Take a short break at Chuma Thang and visit the hot springs there. You can also grab some breakfast at one of the local eateries. From Chumathang, head towards Tsomoriri Lake, passing through the picturesque Mahe Bridge and through the village of Sumdo. (Approx. 85 km, 2-3 hours) Upon arrival at Tsomoriri Lake, take a walk along the shore to enjoy the stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. You can also visit the Korzok Monastery, which is located on the western bank of the lake. Have lunch at one of the local eateries near the lake.


 Day-7: Tsomoriri Lake to Leh - Transfer via Taglang La Pass (250km 6-7 hrs).

Route: Tsomoriri to Leh

Place Covered: Tsomoriri – 50 KMs- Puga valley -36KMs – Tsokar – 54 KMs- Tanglang la- 61 KMs- Upshi – 49KMs- Leh

Night Stay: Leh, Hotel Altitude: (11562 ft i.e. 3524 mts)

Distance/Time Taken: 250 km one way (6 to 7 hrs including Sightseeing)

The day will start with a drive to Mahe village, a picturesque village with a spurting fountain and white clouds hanging upon it. From there, you will proceed towards Puga Valley, famous for Butan Gas. After that, you will continue towards Tsokar via Polokongka Pass (at 13500 ft.). After visiting Tsokar Lake, you can also see Thugke gompa. The place is quite known for wild Asses, seen grazing and moving in flocks. From here, you will drive towards Leh. On the way, you will stop at Tanglangla pass, the second-highest motorable pass in the world at 5350 m. After, arriving in Leh; you will retire to your hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.


 Day-8: Leh Hotel – Leh - Airport –Drop - Departure Transfer only.

Leave after breakfast from the hotel for Leh airport drop for your onward journey.

1)How can we reach Ladakh?

Answer: Answer. There are three ways to reach Ladakh:

  • The best way to travel to Ladakh is by flight. Leh Airport is well-connected with major cities like Delhi, Jammu, Chandigarh, Srinagar, and many other places through direct and connecting flights.
  • If you are traveling by road then there are two different routes lead to Ladakh - one from Srinagar and another from Manali. If you are traveling from Manali then you will cover the distance of 474 kilometers to Leh via Keylong with a night stopover. On the other hand, Srinagar to Leh will take you through Sonamarg, Drass, Kargil, Mulbekh, and Lamayuru. You will cover 434 km on this journey. All the roads remain open from May to October.


2)Is there any oxygen problem in Ladakh?

Answer: Ladakh is located at high altitude, nearly 11,500 feet above sea level. At this altitude people often find difficulty in breathing or are likely to fall prey to altitude sickness. It happens due to a low level of atmospheric oxygen. It is advisable to give yourself enough time to acclimatize before engaging in any physical activity.
