Day 1: Chandigarh/Shimla to Narkanda. Stay Narkanda
Our winter spiti expedition will start from Chandigarh/Shimla pickup and reach Narkanda by evening. Narkanda is almost 175 km away from Chandigarh and it will take 4 to 5 hours. Volvo will be in charge of your comfort concerns during the overnight journey to Shimla and Narkanda is 65 km away from Shimla and it will take 1/2 hours. That is all for the first day in winter spiti expedition. Overnight stay at Narkanda.
Day 02: Narkanda to Chitkul/Sangla
Today, drive to last village of India Chitkul, as river Baspa will be at your right side. On the way you will pass through Rakcham village. The Indian road ends here. Chitkul is situated at 3450m height. Chitkul is the last Indian village on the India-China border and experience another beautiful valley. According to the centre of atmospheric sciences at IIT Delhi, Chitkul has the cleanest air in India. Overnight stay at Chitkul/Sangla.
Day 03: Chitkul/Sangla to Tabo
By Morning after breakfast, we will start our journey to Tabo. The destination is around 210 Km from Chitkul/Sangla and would take almost 7 hours. En-route we will cross through Sumdo Border and Ka loops. Tabo is famous for its ancient monastery; this monastery is awarded with world heritage site by UNESCO in this winter spiti expedition. Visit the Oldest Monastery in Spiti valley which is Tabo Monastery. Overnight stay at Tabo.
Day 04: Tabo to Kaza. Stay at Kaza
This day, you will drive to Kaza, which is around 70 km away from Tabo. We will reach to Kaza by the afternoon. The old town is located on the outer edge of the city and the major attraction here is an ancient monastery in this winter spiti expedition. Visit Hikkim, the location of the world’s highest post office. Komic, the highest village connected by a motorable road in winter spiti. Also visit Langza very famous for the buddha statue. Overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 05: Local Sightseeing in Kaza. Stay at Kaza
Today will be important day in this winter spiti expedition, we will explore the magnificent beauty of Kaza. Visit the Key monastery situated at 4166m in height, the most scenic monastery of Spiti valley. Also visit the highest suspension bridge in Asia – The Chicham Bridge is quite an astounding spectacle at that. The bridge is at a staggering height of 13596 ft and connects the two villages named Chicham and Kibber. Look down this one and you will find yourself gaping below, at a 1000 ft deep gorge! Overnight stay at Kaza.
Day 06: Kaza to Kalpa. Stay at Kalpa
This day you will move back to Kalpa. En-route visit Dhankar Monastery which is situated at a height of 3894m. Dhankar is the confluence of the Spiti River & Pin River. Reach Kalpa by evening. Overnight stay at Kalpa.
Day 07: Kalpa to Narkanda. Stay at Narkanda.
By morning we will depart for Narkanda. Reach Narkanda by evening. Overnight stay at Narkanda.
Day 08: Narkanda to Chandigarh/Shimla.
Morning after early breakfast at Narkanda hotel departure transfer to Chandigarh / Shimla drop for your onward destination.
